1. Submit a helpdesk ticket so that so that the necessary permissions can be applied to your NYSERDA account.

  2. Review the NYSERDA Terms and Conditions regarding this type of setup which can be found within the BYOD –Policy and Procedures section under Mobile Devices in the Help Desk Knowledge Books.

  3. Join your phone to NYSERDA’s Yoda Wireless system.  The password can be found at http://launch.nyserda.org/ towards the bottom left of your browser.  If you are offsite you can use any local wifi – you do not want to use your cell signal for performance reasons.

  4. From the appropriate store (Google Playor the Apple App Store) download the “Intelligent Hub" application.  This is a free application.


  5. Once the installation is complete open the newly installed Agent software


  6. Click on the “Email Address” button to begin the authentication process.


  7. Enter your NYSERDA email address and then click “continue”


  8. Select “Employee Owned – BYOD” and then click “Continue”


  9. Click “Get Started”


  10. Click “Continue”


  11. Review the terms outlined in the green boxed area (you will need to scroll down to see everything).   Once you have reviewed these terms and are in agreement click “Activate”.  Should you have any questions or concerns please reach out to the NYSERDA Help Desk ([email protected]) and we’d be happy to address them with you.


  12. Apple Devices – Proceed to the next step.
    Android Devices – Click on “Device Settings”.   On the next screen  check “Unknown Sources”.  Return to the encryption process by reopening the AWA Agent application and proceed to the next step.


  13. Click on “Device Settings” to set your password.  Your password must be at least 4 characters long.


  14. **NOTE** The encryption process can take more than an hour depending on the amount of data on your phone.  It is advised that you plug your phone into charge during this process.  Click on “Device Settings” when you are ready to continue.




15. Review the Encryption device information, especially the sections underlined in the screen shot below, then click “Encrypt Device” to continue.  Then relaunch the AWA Agent application to confirm your desire to encrypt your device.


16. Review the information provided and click “Encrypt Device” to begin the actual encryption process.


17 Once your phone has completely completed the encryption process you will see the below screen.  Click “continue”


18. Click “Continue” to setup your NYSERDA email on your device


19. Enter your NYSERDA network password (and confirm) as long as you correctly entered the password in 2x “Passwords Match” will appear above the first entry.  You can then click “OK”. 


20.Click “Exit”.   Your NYSERDA email will now download to your device’s default mail application.

  1. Andy R. Andersen i had to use this page recently. The steps i had to follow does not match what is in this page. Probably the software has been updated. Adding this note for your awareness.
