Submit an Application

Points to Remember:

  • Be sure to complete each section. If you need more time, you can save your application and return to it at any time.

  • Make sure the contact person listed on the application is the same person listed on the electric utility bill.

  • You will need to upload the most recent electric utility bill and required eligibility documents with your application submission. If you don't have them now, you can save your application and return to it when you have the documents available.

  • '*' Indicates a required field. You must fill out this field to proceed with your application.

Navigate to MyEnergy Home Page and click Start My Journey.

Click Start My Plan

Projects currently available:

  • Weatherization

  • Heat Pump Dryers

  • Home Energy Assessment

On the Applicant Information screen, select your role and, if applicable, who you are applying on behalf of, then click Next

Submitting an application can be completed by a:

  • Homeowner

  • Renter

  • NYSERDA Participating Contractor

  • Regional Clean Energy Hub

Contractors or hubs can submit an application on behalf of a Homeowner or Renter.

Enter Assistance Information and click Next.

Assistance Information:

  • Question 1: Select Yes if they are receiving or have received any of the following services within the past 12 months: HEAP, SNAP, SSI, TANF, Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP), or Public Assistance.
  • Question 2: If they received a referral letter from NYSERDA, they can find the referral code in the third paragraph of the referral letter (example: NTF-GAS) and provide it to you. The code is based on the referral entity but should always be 6 digits.

Enter Physical Address Information and click Next

Physical Address Information:

If the household includes more than 10 people, please enter 10 as the maximum value.

Select Household Income Range and click Next

Household Income Range:

  • Be sure to include all sources of income, not only wage or salary.

  • Other sources of income include disability, worker's compensation, unemployment, pension, maintenance, annuities, Veteran's benefits, tax forms, and social security

Select Home Improvement Project and click Next

Available Project Types:

Residents may only participate in one project at a time; therefore, they have the option to select between Appliance or Whole Home Upgrade.

Review Eligibility Details then select Continue Application.

The Eligibility Details that you see in this screenshot are for EmPower+. If the customer is eligible for AUP or Comfort Home this screen will show the eligibility details for those programs.

Enter and upload Appliance Information and click Next.

This step is for Appliance Upgrade Program Applications. For Empower+ and Comfort Home Applications continue to the next step. 

Enter Applicant Contact Information and click Next.

Confirm Site Location and click Next

Updating Addresses:

If the listed Site Information or Mailing Information is different than listed, select the box to each Address.

Enter Homeowner Information and click Next.

Updating Addresses:

If the listed Site Address listed differs from the Owner address, select the box to update the address.

Enter Utility Information and click Next.

Enter Partner Information and click Next.

Enter Household Member Information and click Next

Adding Household Members:

Under Household Information, confirm the number of household members and enter additional details for each household member by selecting Add.

If applicable, enter Household Member Income.

 

Review all of the following information entered for this Application and click Next.

Click +New Document to upload any documentation and click Next.

What Documents should I upload?:

  • Categorical Income Information

  • Proof of Income

Sign your application by selecting Proceed to eSignature

Obtaining eSignature:

When a resident submits their own application, they will be directed to DocuSign to complete and eSignature.

Confirm application completion and close window.

View an Application via MyEnergy

Open MyEnergy and click My Projects.

Open application by clicking on Application Number Hyperlink.

View an Application via MyEnergy that I don't see in My In-Progress Applications

Open MyEnergy, type Customer Last Name and Application Number, and click Find Application.

Click Launch Application.
