Introduction

This software is required for connecting to your NYSERDA Virtual machine from a computer other than the one at your desk.  It can be installed on your personally owned machine to enable you to securely connect to your NYSERDA desktop while out of the office.

UI Step

From your PC/Laptop go to: https://desktopmydesktop.nyserda.ny.gov/ and click on the "Install VMWare Horizon Client icon.

UI Step

Choose the appropriate software installation for your computer's operating system and click on Go to Downloads. If you are not sure which operating system version you are running you can find instructions here.

Use all the default install options to complete the software installation.

Open the SecureAuth application on your phon. If you do not have this installed please review the Multi-Factor Authentication: Configure SecureAuth Authenticate page. This generates the passcode required in the first step when logging in.

Double click on the VMWareVerizon Client icon on your computer.

Click the New Server Icon. You will be prompted with a box asking for the name of the Connection Server.

Enter the following in the available field: mydesktop.nyserda.ny.gov and then Click Connect.

You will be prompted to enter your SecureAuthRADIUS user name and passcode. Enter your username as you normally would, then enter the six digit number being generated by the SecureAuth application from your phone.

If the previous step was done correctly, you will be prompted to enter in your NYSERDA password. The domain will auto-populate to NYSERDA.

You will then select the VM pool to which you have been assigned by double clicking on the icon. If you are a PC user you will only see NYSERDA Visitors and Conference Rooms. If you're a VM user, you can connect to your normally assigned virtual machine.

Now you can view your desktop from home as if you were in the office. Your archives, Outlook , NYSERDA printer, assigned drives, etc. are all accessible.
