If you do not have the VMWare Horizon client installed, you can still connect to your virtual machine while remote. Here's how to do it. IT recommends using an incognito/Private Google Chrome for the browser window.
First, navigate to https://mydesktop.nyserda.ny.gov
...
Enter in your NYSERDA login name (not your email address) and the 6 digit passcode from your SecureAuth Authenticate app
Click Login.
Now, enter in your NYSERDA login password
Click Login
You'll then connect to the Virtual Machine pool selection screen. If you normally have a VM, select that. If you don't pick "NYSERDA Visitors and Conference Rooms"
You will then see your computer in the browser window. You can interact with it just like you would connected through the VMWare Horizon client. Note though, that dual monitors are not supported.
If you need to send control-alt-delete use the tray on the left side and select the icon with the three keys stacked.
- Choose which method you would like to use for your one-time Security code. Once you’ve selected the option best suited for you click on the blue “Submit” button.
a. Time-based Passcode – SecureAuth OTP Mobile App. – This option allows you to use the SecureAuth Passcode application if you have it configured.
b. SMS/Text – This option will send a text message to your NYSERDA issued cell phone.
c. Email XXXXX@nyserda.ny.gov – This option will send a one time code to your NYSERDA email.
Enter in the One-Time code that you were sent and then click on the blue “Submit” button
Check the box next to “Always allow mydesktop.nyserda.ny.gov to open links of this type in the associated app” and then Click the “Open VMWare Horizon Client” button.
Select your VM desktop group. For most users this will be the “Windows 10 Dynamic” group.
Click “OK” to the NYSERDA notice of Terms of Use Agreement.
Log in with your NYSERDA Credentials and click the icon to fully launch your VM.
